my Juniperus virginiana – red cedar trees that are all brown turnign?
We have 5 Juniperus virginiana – red cedar trees that in our yard, each about 30 'tall. In the last month or two, they began firing Brown, from the inside out despite the new shoots and berries. I saw some brown before I felt the inside wihich probably normal because the sun does not happen all the way in. Now, however, Brown, qucikly extends outside. We had pretty much normal rainfall and was gentle enough for this. I'm afraid I'll lose these trees. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
You may have mites. That as the cedar and juniper and others. Time moth too. It sounds like mites. If you determine that you have, use a systemic insecticide of some kind (Ortho, etc.) and monitoring of treatment. An application that probably does not.
