Budapest weekend of Easter (4-5 days)?
My husband and I plan to take vacation in Budapest MNI for 4-5 days during the weekend Easter 2010. Besides the museums, beautiful architecture and parks and nature, we like going to concerts – especially traditional music, which represents the country we visited. Is there somewhere that from traditional "folk" music in Budapest?
Having the pleasure of living Budapest for a few years, I surely you would say that some points very well with what you mentioned – the architecture and museums, is left in fear. As for the music specifically, in the center the city a taste of the music surely will meet the most "popular" the palace, but there is a small jewel in the call center Gödör Klub (Metro station Deak Ferenc ter). It is a place that is a little naked and in my opinion, lack a certain atmosphere, but nights folk surely change. If you are lucky you can take a measure with the local dance at a crowd of about 100 or more mixed with the locals. performers and tourists — all are welcome. Website: http://www.godorklub.hu/ I would say this is the best solution for a single place, but must also try to verify some church on Holy Saturday at midnight Mass where locals gather and sing hymns and folk songs of Hungary. Try the Basilica of Saint-Etienne – and Best of all, is the heart of the city, 5 minutes from the Klub Gödör I mentioned earlier. In addition, there are some other options, including a near Budapest Easter on the hour. The festival is called "Busojaras" I think it is commensurate with the Easter holidays. I suggest you Google the name if you are interested in out of town for a few hours. We hope you have fun in Budapest, in fact, I know you PS: My final recommendation, I would suggest a hotel in the center of the Bascila town called Central Hotel "I stayed there on a business trip in May and although there is a large hotel, the location can not be equal and is a small hotel locality so prefer to book with them instead of strings.
